The Yellow Patches

Natasha, my guide, in one of the many patches of bright yellow fields that we passed on our way to Bratslav. Only when I got back to my computer did I discover that the lovely yellow flowers were in fact rapeseed, which is used both for making vegetable oil (canola) and biodiesel, and of which Ukraine is one of the larger producers. On the moment, of course, I had no clue about this agricultural phenomenon, and was merely cataloguing the landscape like a tourist after we took advantage of a pit stop along the road.
